Comparing the Defensible Network Architecture with the NSA’s Manageable Network Plan

In our course, CYB 606 – Net Defense and Countermeasures, NUCSIA students learn a variety of network defensive measures. The April 2014 class, taught by Adjunct Faculty member Alan Watkins, conducted a comparison of Richard Bejtlich’s Defensible Network Architecture 2.0 and the NSA’s Manageable Network Plan. A summary of the comparison and the instructor’s comments are available here. Richard Bejtlich’s books, “The Tao of Network Security Monitoring” and, most recently, “The Practice of Network Security Monitoring” are core parts of the course curriculum.
