Dr. Gordon Romney was recognized for his leadership by the San Diego, California, Securing Our eCity Foundation at their Securing Our eCity Symposion Awards Ceremony on 11 October, 2012. This is the second consecutive year that National University has been recognized for efforts supporting the local community of San Diego and it’s surrounding region.

In conjunction with Securing Our eCity Foundation and the Girl Scouts of San Diego and Imperial County, NUCSIA hosted the San Diego Girl Scouts Get Cyber Savvy! Event.

The National University Virtual Education Lab was to support a week long cyber security camp for high school students taught by Associate Faculty memebr Chris Simpson. During the event students were given several virtual systems to defend from attack from a fictional red team led by National University CSIA student Dustin Fritz located in Atlanta, GA.
